Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Mary Elizabeth, but most people call me Mebis. I live in Nashville with my husband and our two cats. I took my first art lesson 24 years ago and have loved creating ever since. I am driven by my curiosity about the world around me, and I love color and its relationship with light, so I enjoy painting glass, nature, and pretty much anything that grabs attention. I am also fascinated by the intricate details that can be found when studying an object closely, which informs my love of nature studies especially. I believe that art can capture a slice of life—whether that be a memory, a different culture, or the most mundane object that you might never think twice about.
